Worship – Pentecost 5A

On Pentecost 5, 5th Julywe continued to listen to the family saga of Abraham – we met Rebekah, one of the mothers of our faith, as Abraham sought a bride for his son Isaac. Through her story, we reflected upon Gods blessing and guidance in our living.

And expanding on the theme of the feminine in scripture, we heard words from Jesus through which he identifies with Sophia, Mother Wisdom. Jesus speaks to us in this challenging time of pandemic lockdowns quoting earlier Wisdom literature saying, Come to me and take my yoke upon you.”
