Justice & Mission Committee

The JAM committee is committed to:

  1. offering clear and constructive advice regarding missional priorities for Church Council’s consideration
  2. building community, bringing the congregation along with us, providing opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, life experiences and skills to engage.
  3. fostering and nurturing our energy to ensure that what we focus on is done well
  4. taking the opportunity to speak truth to power

We will explore and engage with a range of issues including but not limited to

  • Climate action
  • Refugees & Asylum Seekers
  • Justice system – prisons, children & young people in detention
  • Homelessness, lack of housing, welfare payments
  • First Nations people
  • Justice & law – elections are coming up, an opportunity to speak truth to power through election forums
  • Mental health – an increasing issue across all areas
