Hot Cross Buns & Soup Lunch
After worship on Good Friday, 19th April, we gather to spend time together enjoying home made hot cross buns and beautiful soups (thank you Ray and Alistair).  Everyone is welcome to the home of Adrian & Anita, 11 Hellers St. Brunswick from noon.  BYO drinks and chairs.

Listening Skills workshop

Commissioning
It’s official – Peter Blair and Dave Hall will be commissioned as our Olive Way and Children Youth & Young Adult Pastors on Sunday 5th May, 1:00pm followed by afternoon tea.  The service will be presided over by Rev. Sani Vaeluaga.

Out and About

Book Launch
Irish poet and theologian Pádraig Ó Tuama will launch Julie Perrin’s collection of 60 stories Tender, stories that lean into kindness.  BUC folk are invited.   Do SAVE THE DATE: Saturday May 11th @ 2pm in the church hall. All welcome.

Padraig O Tuama will offer a seminar ‘Theology as Story:  Believing in the Truth of People‘, Thursday 9th May and workshop, Friday 10th May at the Centre for Theology and Ministry.

John Bell in Australia
John Bell will be in Victoria over the weekend of 11th-13th May during which time he will take part in conversations on God, Delight and Diversity, Non-Violent Peacemaking, Celtic and Indigenous spirituality.  Check out all the details here.

Climate Action
For meaningful change to happen, hundreds of thousands of us need to get active, consistently, visually, positively. People Power is the ONLY hope we have. Here are some events you can join in:

  • GreenFaith ARRCC  meeting at at St. Philip’s Anglican Church, 146 Hoddle Street Collingwood. on Sunday 21st April from 5:30-8pm. The last hour from 7-8pm will be a presentation from Kanchana Weerakoon, president of Journeys for Climate Justice, Kanchana will speak about her experience of empowering youth as environmental leaders in Sri Lanka.  Please bring vegetarian or vegan food to share.
  • There will be a Candidates Forum on Climate Change at Coburg Town Hall on Monday 29th April organised by Moreland Climate Action
  • Stop Adani Moreland – meets every second Monday at 6:3o pm, Coburn East Neighbourhood House

Wills Candidate Forum
Northsiders with Refugees
will host a forum on Tuesday 23rd April, 6:00-7:00pm at Brunswick UC.  The forum will be supported by the Justice and Mission Committee.  We strongly you encourage to come along, listen and be informed.  Find out more here.
