Palm Sunday
Bring along your drums and percussion instruments to add volume to our Ecumenical Walk on Palm Sunday.

FUNdraising Stalls for the Lenten Offering
The Lenten Offering is an annual event in the life of congregations within the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania.  It is conducted during Lent and Easter at a time of reflection, renewal and recommitment.  After worship on Sunday 25th March we will hold FUNdraising stalls to support the Lenten Offering.  All contributions for the stall are welcome.  Contact Saide, 0407 096 743 for more information. Projects to be supported are: Prevention of blindness, Community of Reconciliation, Youth Engagement and Regional Youth Tasmania.

Palm Sunday Rally
It’s that time of year again! The Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees is approaching – Sunday 25th March, 2pm – and we will be having a BUC presence there. We will be meeting in our ‘usual spot’ on the grassy area on the corner of Swanston and LaTrobe Streets with our BUC and Welcome banners.  We hope to see you there!

Holy Week worship
Worship during Holy Week will continue the theme of listening, bringing together the themes of Lent and taking us into an experience of listening to and engaging with the central stories of our faith: Maundy Thursday – 29th March, 7:00pm, Good Friday – 30th March, 9:30am, Easter Day – 1st April, Dawn Service, 6:30am, Breakfast, 7:30am, Holy Communion, 9:30am.

Good Friday Hot Cross Buns lunch
Between the solemnity of Good Friday, 30th March, and the lead up to our celebrations on Easter Day our community gathers for a magnificent feast of Hot Cross Buns and an amazing variety of soups. Arrive any time from midday.

KOGO presentation
Save the date, Saturday 7th April and join the Olive Pesto (craft group) for morning tea at 10am for the presentation of the amazing rugs made last year to Andrea from KOGO.   Celebrate the story and be inspired. Contact Ann Soo for details, 0422 842 244.

BUC Camp
The BUC camp is on again for 2018! This year we are together 27th to 29th April, and looking at “Bearing Fruit“. Once again, we are going to beautiful Adekate Lodge, only 90 minutes drive from church. Bushwalks, archery, dinner & show, worship, time to stop and chat – we have it all, and more.  The booking website is up and running: https://www.trybooking.com/USBM

Accommodation needed
Can you help with offering some shared or self-contained accommodation?
A.A is a 40 year old Ethiopian man and former refugee who arrived in Australia 12 months ago to live permanently. He is having difficulty finding suitable accommodation. He would like shared or self-contained (e.g a Bungalow or Granny Flat) accommodation with respectful and friendly people of any age. Opportunities to practice English and learn more about Australian culture would also be appreciated. If you think you can assist, please contact Leesl Wegner on 0423 265 538 or wegnerl@foundationhouse.org.au

Easter Eggs (Food Co-op)
The Food Co-op Committee would like you to know that there will be no Fair Trade Easter Eggs available for purchase this year. The manufacturer has changed the packaging – the chocolate egg is now encased in a moulded plastic capsule inside the cardboard box.  Our decision was based on the Values of the Food Co-op.  We aim for reduced packaging of food products and we are mindful of not purchasing products in single use plastic containers.  Contact Helen Rowe if you wish to comment.
