All contributions for the stall are welcome. Contact Saide, 0407 096 743 for more information. Projects to be supported are: Prevention of blindness, Community of Reconciliation, Youth Engagement and Regional Youth Tasmania.
Palm Sunday Rally
It’s that time of year again! The Palm Sunday Walk for Justice for Refugees is approaching – Sunday 25th March, 2pm – and we will be having a BUC presence there. We will be meeting in our ‘usual spot’ on the grassy area on the corner of Swanston and LaTrobe Streets with our BUC and Welcome banners. We hope to see you there!

Can you help with offering some shared or self-contained accommodation? A.A is a 40 year old Ethiopian man and former refugee who arrived in Australia 12 months ago to live permanently. He is having difficulty finding suitable accommodation. He would like shared or self-contained (e.g a Bungalow or Granny Flat) accommodation with respectful and friendly people of any age. Opportunities to practice English and learn more about Australian culture would also be appreciated. If you think you can assist, please contact Leesl Wegner on 0423 265 538 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Easter Eggs (Food Co-op)
The Food Co-op Committee would like you to know that there will be no Fair Trade Easter Eggs available for purchase this year. The manufacturer has changed the packaging – the chocolate egg is now encased in a moulded plastic capsule inside the cardboard box. Our decision was based on the Values of the Food Co-op. We aim for reduced packaging of food products and we are mindful of not purchasing products in single use plastic containers. Contact Helen Rowe if you wish to comment.
Everyone is welcome to attend the Prayers for Peace ANZAC Day service at St. Paul’s Cathedral, 11am on 25th April. The preacher will be Fr Claude Mostowick MSC, Chairperson of Pax Christi.
