BUC News

Are you a qualified First Aider?
We are updating our list of First Aid volunteers.  If you have a current First Aid Certificate or a CPR Certificate and would be willing to assist if a situation arose during a BUC activity you were involved in – Please contact Helen Rowe on 0423 009 813 to indicate your interest.  The names of our First Aid volunteers are posted on the notice board in the gathering space.

Church Camp
It’s only 8 weeks until our annual Church Camp.  Save the dates 24th-26th May.  Even more importantly join the planning committee features:  minimal meetings, communication by email, task allocation and delegation.  Contact Camp Coordinator Anthony Hinds, 0478 692 607‬, to join.

Lenten FUNdraising Stalls
Be ready to buy up big at the stalls after worship on Sundays 7th & 14th April.  On offer: craft, baked goods and preserves. If you have something you want to contribute please bring it along on the day.  If you have any questions call Glenice, 0414 319 649, or Saide, 0407 096 743.  The fun continues after Easter with Helen Burnham’s now famous Pop-Up Shop Op for three-four weeks from 28th April.

Are you interested in having a quarterly daily devotion guide that provides a reflection on the next Sunday’s lectionary?
You need to order the three remaining copies of With Love to the World, costing $15.
Faye Findlay will be collecting $15 from anyone interested in the Pentecost/Creation and Advent issues. These additional orders must be finalised by 15 April.

Lenten Reflection Group
The Discipleship & Education Committee has chosen the Centre for Theology & Ministry resource ‘Lenten Reflections 2019‘ for our focus this season.  You are invited to join with others in discussing your Lenten reflections.
When? Thursday evenings 21/3, 28/3, 4/4, 11/4 (and come back on 18/4 for our Maundy Thursday service)
Where? Gathering Space in the Church.
Time? 7:30-9:00pm in the Church

MS Melbourne Cycle
HunterClan will be on the road early on Sunday 31st March to raise money to support people affected by Multiple Sclerosis.  You can support their efforts by making a donation to the team or individual members.

Nourish is Back!
We’re delighted to announce that there will be a special session for children (mainly primary school aged) on both Wednesdays of the school holidays.
Julie and Ian will lead the 10th of April, and Janet and Ann Soo will guide the 17th – the day before Maundy Thursday
(We are looking for a kindly kitchen supporter for both sessions)

Irish poet and theologian Pádraig Ó Tuamawill launch Julie Perrin’s collection of 60 stories Tender, stories that lean into kindness.  BUC folk are invited.

John Bell will be in Victoria over the weekend of 11th-13th May during which time he will take part in conversations on God, Delight and Diversity, Non-Violent Peacemaking, Celtic and Indigenous spirituality.  Check out all the details here.
