I always feel the need to have a bit of a cry when I stand in line to vote……

It isn’t about the expectation of a democracy sausage;

It isn’t about the hope of the outcome of the vote;

It’s a bit about standing with community…..

But mostly it’s about holding in my memory those that struggled and went before me;  those that fought to allow suffrage and the right to vote for women;  those that fought for Black people in South Africa to have the vote;  and those that still have no voice to vote.

So please….. smile at the volunteers and remember those on whose shoulders we stand.  Your opportunity to vote is both a privilege and a responsibility.
