Since Dave Hall finished up in May, we have had two wonderful members of BUC step in to be interim coordinators of our youth group, YUCY. If you’ve been wondering who they are, here’s the scoop.

From Matilda [left]: I moved to Melbourne from Tasmania at the start of 2021 and have been living in the BUC student house since then. I come from a large family, so I have a lot of experience running activities for kids and teens, and I’ve been volunteering as a leader at YUCY since last year.

A little more about me… I’m studying a double degree of Science and Arts at Monash University, focussing on genetics, biochemistry, history, and literature. I love gardening, stories, and dabbling in various creative endeavours!

Helping to plan and run YUCY events has been an incredible experience so far, and I’m so excited to keep making youth group a fun and safe space for young people to enjoy!
From Bridie [right]: I’ve been a part of BUC’s student house since the beginning of 2020, when I moved to Melbourne from regional Victoria. Since then, I’ve been an active part of the BUC community, involved in activities like volunteering as a YUCY leader.
I’m studying a bachelor’s degree of Arts majoring in philosophy and politics alongside a diploma in languages. Some of the things I love are theatre, design, going on walks and being in community. It is a joy to help facilitate YUCY events, and I can’t wait to see where the future of YUCY leads!
