BUC Finance Co-ordinator – seeking Expressions of Interest
As you may know, Abi Benham-Bannon has been accepted into a PhD program (with scholarship). We’re very excited for her, but also sad to lose her from the Finance Co-ordinator role that she has held for several years.
We’re seeking expressions of interest from members and friends of BUC who might like to apply for this role. It’s a paid role, 14 hours per fortnight part time (mostly flexible hours), commencing approximately 1 February 2024. In a nutshell, it involves:
– managing all our outgoing payments
– supervising a Finance Clerk who does the bookkeeping for all incoming funds
– liaising with Ministry Team and BUC members regarding reimbursements, petty cash accounts, etc
– assisting the Treasurer to prepare quarterly and annual financial reports
– copyright reporting and other administrative tasks
– other tasks at the request of the Treasurer from time to time
There will be some opportunity for handover and training with Abi, and we have good documentation of the core tasks of the role. Formal qualifications in accounting are not essential – a person with aptitude and motivation can learn on the job. Self-motivation and the ability to manage tasks and timelines with minimal direct supervision (once trained) are essential.
