Worship – Season of Creation 4

On the fourth Sunday of our Season of Creation (Pentecost 19), 11th October, we engaged with the mystery of Creation and ask ‘who are we that we think to control and impose order over this mystery?’  We welcomed Geoff Thompson as our preacher.  Geoff is a member of our congregation who teaches theology at Pilgrim Theological College, the UCA’s theological college in Parkville.

Wesley Trigg offers his thanks for the many messages, cards and expressions of sympathy and care offered following Una’s death.

On Thursday 8th October we spent time together honouring Klaus Fiedler.  The video shared is available here.  The video is a compilation of photos, videos and memories shared by members of the congregation and other friends of Klaus, Eva, Felix and Christina.

Thank you to Michael Rigby and Jane Allardice for sharing the photos used for the Title Slides and prayers used for worship.

Climate Crisis – During the offering members of the congregation shared the commitments they are making, watch here.
A longer version of this presentation is available here.
Access the Climate Action Commitment Sheet here.  Also visit the Earth button.

Candle Story project – This project is an invitation for each of us to share the story of the candle we are lighting in our homes or the candle holder.  Read Brad Coath’s story.  Visit the Lighting Candle Stories page for more stories.

Ian is collecting photos of faces in facemarks for next week’s service video. So please send Ian a selfie of your face in your favourite mask while you’re out and about in the next few days – iferguson@icloud.com

I love collecting and sharing the stories of our congregation. Our new website is a wonderful platform for this to happen in a dynamic way. I hope you enjoy exploring the website to find out more about how the BUC congregation tells, shares and celebrates the story of God's love for all creation.
