The Climate Action Group is encouraging actions to help the congregation to understand the need to “love our neighbour” and particularly our neighbour in the form of members of the Pacific Island nations who are most vulnerable to the effects climate change.

  • taking personal actions – visit the post or collect a postcard at worship
  • singing a petition in support for the Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty
  • a request for a delegation to meet with our member of parliament,
  • writing prayers for people carrying responsibility of climate decisions,
  • planning for a vigil
  • participating in major nation moment of public action

Take up a spiritual practice

  • Set up a regular time each day to sit in a garden, park, or place that’s significant and observe what is around you? what birds do you see, what are the plants doing, what is the air like?
  • Take up a slow walking practice and collect or photograph something you love or something you have never noticed before

  • Choose something each week to give away in order to give new life eg. an item of clothing or something you no longer use, flowers from your garden, food from your kitchen
  • Make some time to reflect, pray, journal at the end of each day about where God was present in your day
