In remembering Jesus’ baptism, Christians are invited to recall not just his immersion by John in the Jordan, but the way he lived out his baptism in the totality of his life, death and resurrection. And every act of baptism in the church is an invitation for the church to think about how it does actually live out the baptised life and the ways it reflects Jesus’ life, death and resurrection to the world.
