BUC News

MS Melbourne Cycle
Thank you for your generous support of our participation in the MS Melbourne Cycleon Sunday 15th April.  Your generosity helped us to raise $2,705. You can still make a donation online to support research for those affected by multiple sclerosis, from the Hunter Clan

From the CY&YA committee
The CYYA committee (Children, Youth, and Young Adult) is made up of four volunteers (David Moorhouse, Anita Brown-Major, Catherine Drimmel and Rachel U’ren) and three staff members (Ian, Anika and Caitlin). We aim to encourage, support, and oversee the work with children, families and young adults in our community at BUC. We are keen to welcome new members to the committee and ask that you contact Anita if you are interested in joining our fun group.

Over the coming months we will farewell Anika Jensen from her two roles within the church, which have taken form as 10 hours a week dedicated to the student house and 8 for the BUC youth. She has been working in both these positions for the past three years. Anika will be finishing with us on the 6th of May and her work and all she has offered will be formally acknowledged during the service on this date.

Caitlin Mullen has filled the interim role of administrator for the children and families program (basically organising Sunday Morning Program) for the past 6 months. We thank Caitlin for her work and wish her luck in her new position at a secondary college.  Caitlin will be finishing her formal role within the church at church camp at the end of April.

We have been unsuccessful in finding a permanent pastor in the children and families role and are currently considering what options we have in this important ministry area.  Please consider asking anyone in your networks if they know of someone who might be called to work with children and families.

While Church council is contemplating our options we are asking for expressions of interest for the role of the interim Children and family worker.  Please contact Anita for the job description.

Both screens in the worship space have been replaced and the faulty one has been disposed of.  The remaining screen is approximately 9 years old and in need of a new home.  Please contact Ray Cameron, 0407 096 743.  Details of the screen are as follows and a spec sheet is also available:  Brand: Panasonic High Definition Plasma Display; Model No.: TH-65PF12WK

BUC Camp
The BUC camp is on again for 2018 – only 7 days to go! This year we are together 27th to 29th April, and looking at “Bearing Fruit“. Once again, we are going to beautiful Adekate Lodge, only 90 minutes drive from church. Bushwalks, archery, dinner & show, worship, time to stop and chat – we have it all, and more.   Make your booking today.  Numbers need to be known for catering and room allocation purposes.
