Worship in February
The worship committee has added a few new items to the details regarding worship including plans for overflow in the Youth Hall, an idea for house church gatherings and a request for feedback about your experience of worship by livestream.  Details here.
Please remember to register for worship using Trybooking.
If you are interested in co-hosting the overflow space in the Youth Hall please email saide.cameron@bigpond.com.
Join a regular group of worshippers at Café Marcella’s just up the road from the church for coffee & cake or maybe even lunch after worship

Leaders’ Retreat 2021
Are you a leader at BUC – a committee member, roster volunteer, SMP teacher, a leader of any kind or are you interested in leadership? There are many of us! And it’s great to get together at the start of the year to reflect on where we are and where we might be heading.   The 2021 Leaders’ Retreat ‘all leaders session’ will be on Saturday 6th February, 2-4:45pm at BUC.

Microphone training
Where do I stand?  How close do I need to be?  Should I move the microphone?  All these questions and more will be answered during Notices on Sunday 7th February.  Shawn Whelan will demonstrate what to do and what not to do.  You can also have your own personal training session after worship.

Daytime Book Club
Currently the group is meeting in person at Cafe Marcella.  The next meeting is Wednesday 10th February at 11am.  Details here.

Ash Wednesday
Join us for worship on Wednesday 17th February at 7:30pm in the garden as we begin the season of Lent.  This service will not be live-streamed.

Holy Week Worship planning
Save the date – join members of the worship committee to plan for worship during Holy Week on Wednesday 3rd March, 7:30pm in the worship space.  Email Saide.cameron@bigpond.com to request a copy of the lectionary (Bible readings) for the services.

ARRCC and Sacred People, Sacred Earth
On Friday 11th March, Brunswick UC will join faith communities around the world for the biggest-ever multi-faith Day of Action on the climate crisis called Sacred People, Sacred Earth.  Read the post for all the details.

BUC Student House – rooms available
There are two vacancies in our student house program.  Please pass this news on to any young people attending tertiary studies in 2021.

Meditation
Meditation is a way of paying attention, and taking the focus away from ourselves and our internal ‘chatter’ and distractions. It can become a practice which can mirror our whole life and give us the freedom to live life in its fullness.
The group is continuing to meet via a WhatsApp group on Tuesday and Thursday at 9 am.  Contact Richard Arnold on 0407796429 to join the WhatsApp group.
