A new Book Club
Do you want to share the joy of reading with others?  Claire Foley would love to hear from anyone who wants to join a daytime group, meeting at the Church (eventually). If there is enough interest the group may make a start online before we can physically meet.  The format will involve bringing a book of your choice to share and discuss with the group.  Contact Claire for more information or to express your interest in joining, 0419 988 972.

October & November roster
The invitation to participate in our next roster will be offered next week.  If you would like to be involved please call Saide, 0407 096 743.  The worship committee would love to hear from people who are interested in recording themselves or another member of your household lighting the candle for worship or offering the Acknowledgement of Country.  Regular roster opportunities for our online worship include liturgist, Bible reading, offering Prayers of the People and contributing to our music recordings.

Accommodation needed
Do you have room in your home for a mother and her 2 year old son for a couple of months? A mother from the Philippines has become stranded in Australia with her son by the pandemic. She is a victim of family violence and is currently in in the care of Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre. She is looking for accomodation while she gets back on her feet. If you are able to help, please contact Ian.

ARRCC: faith-based online action to stop Lloyds insurers working with Adani
Australian Religious Response to Climate Change will be holding a ‘Zoom Party’ where people of faith can join one another online in making sure that Lloyds insurers get the message. You’ll get the choice of doing this in one of the following three ways:

  • Emailing key decision makers in each company
  • Phoning them directly
  • Interacting with them on Twitter

It’s easy and no experience is necessary as you’ll be guided through every step. Do join with other people of faith at 12.30pm on Wednesday 9th September via zoom. If the Zoom Party doesn’t work for you, you can always contact the decision makers in these companies directly in your own time. See ARRCC website or Facebook event for details.
