BUC News

Holy Communion
We will celebrate Holy Communion during worship on 6th February paying careful attention to social distancing and appropriate hygiene measures.  We will gather in the circle of love to receive the elements or a blessing.

Blessings and Commissionings
February is usually a month of blessings.  This year is no exception … and it extends into March.

Congregational Meeting
A congregational meeting will be held after worship on 6th March to explore our Children, Youth and Young Adult ministry and staffing.  Please see the email sent out through our congregation email group for details.

Support for Tonga
In response to the devastation wrought by the volcanic eruption and tsunami there are several opportunities to provide financial support to organizations in Tonga supporting people with their immediate needs – access to safe and clean drinking water, rebuilding homes, reconnecting families.  These include:

We are also aware of people within and connected to our congregation who have family in Tonga – Semisi & Frances Tapueluelu and Rev. Natalie Monu-Dixon.  Natalie is organizing direct support for her family and their village who were impacted by the tsunami and volcanic ash.  Please contact Dave Hall, 0417 310 128, if you would like to connect with Natalie.

House cleaning

BUC Climate Action Group
Would you like to become involved in the BUC Climate Action Group (CAG)? All are welcome to come along to our next meeting which is on zoom at 4.30pm on Saturday 12th February. ARRCC Melbourne Political Engagement group
ARRCC (Australian Religious Response to Climate Change) is a multi-faith network committed to action on Climate Change. The next meeting of the ARRCC Melbourne Political Engagement group, facilitated by BUC’s Linda Wannan, is on zoom from 12 to 1pm on Wednesday 9th February. All people of faith are welcome to come to this local meeting and get involved as much or as little as you’d like with other people of faith. This meeting will have a focus on the coming federal election.

Is your bank investing your money in fossil fuels?
Come learn, share and discuss within an ARRCC multi faith group on aligning your finances with your faith to protect the planet by divesting from fossil fuels. The interactive sessions with a focus on Banking run for 90 minutes on Zoom, with a choice of two times: Tuesday 8th February 2022 at 12noon or Thursday 10th February 2022 at 7:30pm.
