CYYA Review
The 5-yearly Children, Youth and Young Adults Ministry Review is underway. Tim Winkler is coordinating the review, and we’d love to hear your thoughts, to help shape the future. For any parents with children under 18, there’s a zoom lunch on Sunday 12 September. Dave will send the zoom link out.   On Wednesday 29 September at 7:30pm there’s a session for anyone who hasn;t yet had a chance to share their thoughts on ministry we offer to Children, Youth and Young Adults. We will share the zoom link on our website.  And there will be a range of age-specific sessions, as well.

Olive Way
Hot take away meals are being provided to the Olive Way community on Tuesdays during lockdown.  We are so grateful to our Olive Pastor Peter Blair, Peter Murphy and volunteers for offering this support.  Contact Peter Blair for more information, 0431 193 810.

Olive Arts on Zoom
Join Bev Garside for a presentation of her works on Tuesday 14th September on Zoom.  Bev is a tactile artist and joined our Olive Arts community last year during lockdown.  Details here.

Emergent – New Dates!
Our exhibition has been rescheduled to 5th-15th November.  The BUC Arts has made this decision in response to the current lockdown.  We hope that these new dates will provide more time for works to be created and to also allow us to create a companion virtual Exhbition.  Read more here.

Climate Action News

ARRCC Letter writing to PM
After church on July 11, many of us wrote hand-written letters to be delivered next month to the Prime Minister as part of an ARRCC (Australian Religious Response to Climate Change) campaign (see https://www.arrcc.org.au/letters for details) calling for bold action by 2030. If you missed this opportunity to write a letter, it is not too late as ARRCC is still collecting letters, send your letter to the PM, c/o 11 Ashby Street, Kingsgrove, NSW 2208, in time to arrive by Friday, 10th September at the latest (allow for postal delays).

Friends of the Earth – Act on Climate email writing to the ALP
Time is running out for Australia to lift its 2030 climate target before the COP26 summit this November. Friends of the Earth has a campaign sending emails to the Shadow Minister for Climate Change Chris Bowen (see https://www.actonclimate.org.au/email_the_alp for details) encouraging the ALP to match US and UK more ambitious emission reduction targets for 2030 and put pressure the Australian government!

BUC Climate Action Group
Would you like to become involved in the BUC Climate Action Group (CAG) which meets online via zoom on the second Saturday of each month? Come along to our next  zoom meeting at 4.30pm on 11th September – part of the meeting will include a mini digital storm action to put pressure on companies funding the Adani Carmichael coalmine in Queensland. All are welcome; to find out more about climate action at our church click the earth button on BUC website.
