Baptism & Confirmation
On Sunday, 4th July, we will be celebrating the baptisms of Mozhgan and Asal and the confirmation of Joel Hallinan during worship.
We will gather around the table to celebrate Holy Communion on this first Sunday of the month.

NAIDOC Week
Join us for worship at 9.30am, Sunday 11th July as we celebrate NAIDOC week.  Take some time to look at the Tower Room Window installation celebrating music and stories.

Forum with Peter Khalil
We will be hosting a forum with Peter Khalil to allow him to hear from faith communities in his electorate on Thursday 15th July, 7:00-8:45pm.  The format of the evening allows for targeted discussion on three important issues – Climate Crisis, First Nations-Walking Together and Asylum Seekers.  Two speakers will present a story and question per topic to which Peter will respond.
We have invited the Climate Action Group, Walking Together Group, Love Makes a Way and our ecumenical neighbours to contribute questions from which 6 will be chosen for the evening.  The remaining questions will be prioritised in the general question time.

Welcoming Ceremony
During worship on 18th July we will be offering a welcoming ceremony.  We usually do this twice a year but didn’t have the opportunity to do so during 2020.  So this service will be for anyone who has become part of our community in the last 18 months or so to to name Brunswick UC as their faith community.

Music for a Warming World
Led by Simon Kerr (who has facilitated a Climate Musicians Network at BUC and online), Music for a Warming World explores how we can limit the damage – and how we can build the kind of community we need to survive. BUC members and friends will appreciate the well-researched, deeply thought out lyrics and commentary. The musicians are excellent, and the music itself is accessible and varied – from reflective and lamentational, to upbeat and downright fun. Direct Giving

Important notice
If you have a Direct Offering arrangement with U Ethical (formerly UCA Funds), please read this important notice.
If you have set up a regular direct giving arrangement directly from your bank account (typically using Online Banking), you don’t need to do anything.
Before online banking existed, many of us set up “Direct Debit” arrangements with UCA Funds (now called U Ethical). U Ethical takes the money from our individual bank accounts as per our instructions, and once a month, transfers all such offerings to BUC’s account.
On 31 July, this service will end. It’s an important cost saving for U Ethical, which will be passed on to the Synod via increased grants. If you don’t do anything, BUC will stop receiving your offerings after July.
What you need to do:
You need to set up a new direct giving arrangement, or “recurring payment”, directly from your bank account to BUC’s. Some banks will let you do this yourself using online banking (from your computer or smartphone app). Otherwise, ask your branch staff for help to set it up. The account details you need for BUC are:
