A Time to Honour Klaus
We are currently compiling a collection of our memories of Klaus to send to Eva, Christina and Felix.
On Thursday 8th October at 7:30 pm there will be an online gathering to look at it all together, to share our responses and to hold Klaus and his family in our hearts. So, put the date in your diary, and keep sending your stories and images to Ian by Sunday 4th October.

Inaugural Meeting for the (Second Wednesday) Book Club
Thanks to those that have shown interest in the new Book Club.  Our first meeting will be a Zoom meeting on Wednesday 14th October at 10.30am. It isn’t too late to join!
Please let me know on 0419 988 972 or foleyclairep@icloud.com if you would like to be part of this group.
The format will involve bringing a book of your choice to share and discuss with the group.  This means there will be a variety of books each month, with an opportunity to ‘spread the love’ or share the books around to others in the group, where possible.  Claire Foley

People’s Climate Strategy for Victoria
At BUC as part of our climate crisis action plan we decided to campaign solidly on one priority this year, working with the Friends of the Earth grassroots campaign to write a People’s Climate Strategy for Victoria. In July we asked you to do a climate impact survey. Thanks to the many who responded. Now we ask that by Sunday 4th October you complete their Climate Solutions Survey (whether or not you did the impact one): https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ClimateSolutionsSurvey and remember to click the DONE button at the end of the survey.

Powershop “switch a friend” bonus now available!
BUC has taken a significant step by switching our Sydney Rd site’s electricity from 20% to 100% GreenPower. You too can switch to 100% GreenPower, see details of a deal that will also credit both you and BUC with $75 on the BUC Climate Crisis webpage.

‘A Prayer, a Plea, a Bird’
The  Wellspring Centre  have invited Julie Perrin to offer some prayer-writing workshops – ‘A Prayer, a Plea, a Bird’
These 2 hour zoom workshops have been quickly filled for September and repeated in October. If you are keen there is now a third workshop date : Tuesday 10 November 10am-12noon.
A workshop for people who’d like to write the prayers on their hearts. I learnt the art of writing the short and ancient prayer form, the ‘collect’ in a workshop at Whitley with Padraig O’Tuama. Since then I’ve been writing these brief prayers and exploring ways of naming the presence of God. If you would like to join me there will be time in the workshop to practise writing short prayers and the possibility (but not necessity) to share your writing.
Cost:  $45 (full cost) / $40 (concession/WellSpring members).
Contact Wellspring (scroll to date) or call (03) 9855 0277.
