February Olive Branch
The February bumper edition will be published on Sunday 3rd February.

BUC Collage display at CTM
A range of works from the ‘More than Cut & Paste’ workshops held in 2018 and the last two weeks are now on display at the Centre for Theology and Ministry, College Cres. Parkville.  Make a time to go and view the works any time during February.

Leaders’ Retreat
Are you a leader at BUC – a committee member, roster volunteer, SMP teacher, a leader of any kind? There are lots of us! And it’s great to get together at the start of the year to reflect on where we are and where we might be heading.
The 2019 Leaders’ Retreat will be on Saturday 2nd February, most likely at BUC (venue to be confirmed). The plan is for overlapping groups of leaders to meet at different times:
– all leaders who can attend, on Saturday afternoon from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at BUC
– followed by (optional) drinks/dinner out together nearby
– then Church Council will reconvene on Sunday after morning tea, say 11:30 – 4:00, with lunch provided
If you can make it, please let Shawn know so we can plan for the number of people who’ll be attending: info@shawnwhelan.com.au

Sunday Morning Program Blessing
During worship on Sunday 3rd February the Sunday Morning Program will be blessed for the beginning of the new year.  Children starting school or moving from one group to another will receive a gift.  Leaders and assistants will be commissioned.  Parents and the congregation will make promises and commitments.  It takes a village to raise a child.
Contact Janet Watson Kruse, Interim Children & Families Worker, 0425 71 71 79 for more information.

Congregational Meeting
The Joint Nominating Committee (JNC) for the proposed new Minister for the children, youth and young adults (CYYA) of BUC worked diligently on this project through December 2018 and the New Year.
The members of the JNC are John Buckley, the Presbytery Liaison Person; Ron Rosinsky – Rep from Pastoral Relations Committee; and from BUC: Anita Brown-Major – chair of CYYA Committee;  Colin Hunter – rep from Student House committee; Claire Foley  – rep from Church Council.
We are very to announce that we have requested that a Congregational Meeting be held after worship on 10th February.
The purpose of the meeting is for the JNC to present a name to the congregation for consideration in filling a second ministry placement focusing on our Children and Families, Youth and Young Adults.  Please join us at 11:15 for this very important meeting.

Table Church
We are scheduled to recommence on Sunday 10th February.  Have you thought of attending?  We meet from 6-8pm over a simple meal of soup and bread and share in a simple Liturgy at the beginning of a new week.  We recall highlights and lowlights since we last met and pray for ourselves and others. Attendance is very flexible – you attend when you can.   To get started for the year we need a host household for 10 February.  Contact Helen on 0423 009 813 if you can offer your home or if you would like to join Table Church and find out more.

Food Co-op
Next distribution day is Saturday 16th February from 10 am – 12 pm in the Olive Way space.  We buy in bulk and you bring your empty pantry containers or cloth/paper bags to purchase what you require. New members welcome. Contact Helen Rowe for more information 0423 009 813
