Worship this week
The worship space remains closed, however our worship service will be live-streamed from the worship space with pre-recorded segments.  It will be available on YouTube on 3/10. Join Ian for a chat after worship on Zoom.

Olive Way Operations Co-ordinator
In response to the recent Olive Way review a new role has been developed.  See Future Directions for details.  Applications are now called for the role of Olive Way Operations Co-ordinator.  Applications close on 31st October.  The three year position commences on 1st January 2022.  Please share this opportunity with your network.

Emergence – Calling for submissions and volunteers
Our exhibition has been rescheduled to 5th-15th November.  We hope that these new dates will provide more time for works to be created and to also allow us to create a companion virtual Exhbition.  Watch Courtney’s invitation.  To artists – please provide your intention to submit by 3rd October.  To volunteers – please complete and send in the Volunteers Expression of Interest.

Blessing the Animals
Last year we celebrated our bi-annual Blessing of the Animals online and so this year the worship committee decided that it would be fun to hold an in-person blessing to once again celebrate the animals that are dear to us.  Although this is not possible (again) we are going ahead with an online Blessing celebration.
Please email photos or videos of your pets and of any other living creatures that you are committed to caring for and about to iferguson@icloud.com  by Monday 4th October.  Please include your name, your pet’s name (if applicable) and any other useful/relevant information.

Statement from the Heart – Study invitation
The BUC Walking Together with First and Second Peoples Group invites anyone interested to join us in a study guide of the Uluru Statement from the Heart.  We will present this study on the second Monday of each month at 7.30 pm, by zoom, starting on 11th October 2021.   Find out more.

Together BUC Households are making a difference
Thank you to everyone who sent in actions during the Season of Creation. Even though the season has ended we want you to keep letting us know what actions you will commit to, to help act for climate justice. Get ideas from the lists on the Climate Justice page, or think up some new actions to add. Then just look at us go!  Send an email with your commitment to Kate Scull, kescullator@gmail.com

Why the Uniting Church Supports the School Strike for Climate
A free webinar, hosted by well-known broadcaster and journalist Julie McCrossin, will explore why our church has taken this sometimes controversial position. Ms Mcrossin will interview some key players, across the diversity of the Uniting Church. They include a Moderator, a Headmaster of a UCA school, members of Christian Students Uniting and other adult supporters, representatives of our First Nations and Pasifika communities, and most importantly, students from both UCA and public schools directly involved in the SS4C movement. The forum takes place on, Wednesday 6th October 7.15 pm to 8.30 pm. You can register for the event here.
