BUC News

Accessing worship
For the last 2 Sundays we have made the worship service recording public on YouTube just prior to 9:30am.  This was a significant change from the prelude option which involved automatically premiering the service at 9:15am.  We are aware that the change has caused some issues and so the service will now be made public at 9am to ensure that it is ready and available whenever we login to our YouTube channel from 9:20am – the worship committee encourages us to continue participating in worship at the regular time.  The link will also be accessible from the BUC Facebook page from 9am.  If you have any issues, concerns or feedback about accessing the service please email saide.cameron@bigpond.com

Uniting Church Anniversary
During worship on 21st June we will acknowledge the 43rd Anniversary of the Inauguration of the UCA, 22nd June 1977.

Zoom Chat
Join Ian after worship for the weekly post worship Zoom chat at 10:30am.

BUC Climate Action Group – political advocacy and action
The BUC Climate Action Group is working on political advocacy and action as part of BUC’s Climate Action Plan. The priority in 2020 is addressing the Victorian State Government response to Climate Change. You are invited to join the group in a zoom meeting at 11.30 on Sunday 28th June to become more informed and plan how we can become actively engaged.

Consultation on Synod’s Position on Climate Change
The Uniting Church Synod of Victoria and Tasmania Justice and International Mission (JIM) Cluster believes there is a need for the Synod to update its position on the urgency of addressing the causes of climate change and the actions that need to be taken in response. A consultation paper can be downloaded from the website https://justact.org.au/climate-justice-creation/reports/. The JIM cluster is keen to hear by Friday 31st July the views of Uniting Church members on what action the Synod should take on climate change (see website) and is holding two online forums on: Tuesday 21st July, 7–8pm (register here for Tuesday on eventbrite) and Wednesday 22nd July, 10:30–11:30am (register here for Wednesday on eventbrite).
