Working Bee
The Property Committee is hosting a working bee after worship on Sunday 20th March.  We are looking forward to having lots of people stay on and enjoy the camaraderie of working together as we attend to a big list of tasks (long delayed due to lockdowns).  Stay on then for lunch.  Please RSVP to Saide, 0407 096 743, to assist with catering.

Emergency Appeal – Ukraine Crisis
Some BUC members, who want to encourage our support for the Ukraine appeals, have spoken to Ian. They know that, after the disaster in Tonga, it may be a bit harder for many of us to step up. So they have offered to match, dollar for dollar, any new donations that we make in the week through to next Sunday. This means – for every dollar you give, they will give at least a dollar.  Find out more.

Walking Together Group
The WTG will not be meeting in April due to the next meeting being Holy Week.  The Statement from the Heart study group will have its last session about the Statement of the Heart Study, in May,  tentatively Monday May 9th 730 pm via zoom unless informed otherwise (we are hoping to get author of the Study guide  to attend and this is dependent  on his dates).

The Jesuit Social Services are running this initiative in conjunction with Earthworker Cooperative to do draft sealing and increasing energy efficiency for low income households.  Find out more.

Lent

Lenten Reflections:  Stations of the Cross
This year we take a meditative journey on Tuesdays during Lent at 7:30 pm into Jesus’ experience as told in Luke’s gospel. The sessions will be guided by Cullan Joyce, an experienced meditation teacher and lecturer from The University of Divinity.  Next session 22nd March.

Tower Room Window

Seeing through the eyes of Jesus exhibition
The exhibition featuring ten artworks by Rita Broadway is installed in the BUC worship space.  It is a collaboration between Sophia’s Spring and Brunswick Uniting Churches during Lent and Easter 2022 .  The paintings will feature during worship at BUC throughout Lent and at Sophia’s Spring during Holy Week.  We want to make it possible for people to view the paintings at different opportunities – during Olive Way opening, before the Tuesday Lenten meditations and on Sunday afternoons.  Please contact Saide, 0407 096 743, to offer to be a tour host.
