Funeral for Julian Somerville
We are deeply saddened as we hold Maggie Somerville in our thoughts and prayers following the death of her son Julian.  The funeral will be held at our church on Wednesday 23rd January at 2pm.  Refreshments will be served in the hall.  Julie McKinnon and Glenice Cook welcome all offers of slices etc for afternoon tea. They are also particularly keen to hear from people who can help with cleaning up during and after the afternoon tea. Please contact Julie, 0404 563 398, to let her know how you can help and what you can offer.

Main hall floor works – The final coat of paint will be applied on Saturday 19th January.  The hall is off limits until Wednesday 23rd January.  The contents of the hall are being stored in the Olive Way and the Olive Way program has been relocated to the Youth Hall.  The Working Bee to return all the furniture and other items will be held on Saturday 26th January from 11am till we are finished (hopefully 1pm).  Please contact Ray Cameron, 0407 096 743, if you have any questions or concerns and/or to offer your assistance.

Leaders’ Retreat
Are you a leader at BUC – a committee member, roster volunteer, SMP teacher, a leader of any kind? There are lots of us! And it’s great to get together at the start of the year to reflect on where we are and where we might be heading.
The 2019 Leaders’ Retreat will be on Saturday 2nd February, most likely at BUC (venue to be confirmed). The plan is for overlapping groups of leaders to meet at different times:
– all leaders who can attend, on Saturday afternoon from 2:00pm to 6:00pm at BUC
– followed by (optional) drinks/dinner out together nearby
– then Church Council will reconvene on Sunday after morning tea, say 11:30 – 4:00, with lunch provided
If you can make it, please let Shawn know so we can plan for the number of people who’ll be attending: info@shawnwhelan.com.au
