Interim ministries concluding
Last Sunday 26th May at Church Camp we celebrated and thanked Janet Watson Kruse for her work as our Interim Children & Families worker. Janet commenced her ministry in this role on 13th May 2018. See the story here.
On Sunday 2nd June we will celebrate and thank Janet Hogan and Valentina Satvedi-Leydon for their work as our Interim Youth Support and Student House Support workers. Both took up these ministries on Sunday 3rd June 2018.
All three were formally commissioned and blessed as members of our Ministry Team during worship on Sunday 3rd June 2018.
Winter Working Bee
Get warm after worship on Sunday 2nd June by cleaning up and doing some gardening around our property. Stay on for a hearty meal of soup and rolls. Let Ray Cameron know if you are planning to help out, 0407 883 654 and let Saide Cameron know if you bring some soup along to share, 0407 096 743.
World Wide Knit in Public Day
Join us on Saturday 8th June, 11am-5pm, Olive Way. This year’s theme is Knit Give and Respect. Light lunch, afternoon tea, tea & coffee provided. Everyone is welcome, knitters of all abilities. Yarn, needles, tuition and patterns provided. Do, do, do … sign up to http://www.wwkipday.com/knit-give-and-respect/. You can also come on the day if you are not able to commit in advance.
We celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit during worship on Sunday 9th June. Wear something red – the liturgical colour for the day.
Ecumenical Pentecost service
The Brunswick Indonesian congregation will host the annual ecumenical Pentecost service, Sunday 9th June, at Brunswick UC, 5pm, followed by a shared meal. We join with our neighbouring Brunswick congregations. All are welcome.
The June & July roster has been prepared. There are lots of gaps in the Olive Way Mind the Door roster. This roster is a vital cog in the wheel of keeping our children safe after worship. It’s very easy – get a cuppa and something to eat, go to the Olive Way, sit in a comfy chair and chat with the other rostered person whilst making sure that no children leave through the sliding door unsupervised. Please contact Saide Cameron, 0407 096 743, if you can join this roster.
Cleaning of the BUC property
We will undertake a review the contract cleaning schedule in the very near future. If any member of the congregation has comments or feedback they’d like to express about the cleaning of the premises please contact Helen Rowe ASAP, 0423 009 813, preferably by Monday 27th May. Thank you.
