Worship this week
The worship space will be closed this week, with our worship service available on livestream.
The Baptism Ceremony for Natalie and Arian Hakimi, children of Nili and Hamid, and Ben Smith, son of Rebecca will be postponed to a later date.

Olive Pesto
Due to COVID restrictions Our Olive Pesto group will meet via ZOOM on Saturday 14th August from 10 am-12 noon.  Join Zoom meeting.  Catch up on all the news in our August newsletter.

BUC Climate Action Group
Would you like to become involved in the BUC Climate Action Group (CAG) which meets online via zoom on the second Saturday of each month? Come along to our next  zoom meeting at 4.30pm on 14th August. Ian on leave
Ian will be on leave from 17th to 29th August.  We look forward to welcoming Steph Gesling as our preacher on 22nd August and Fiona Bottcher on 29th August for the 5th Sunday Reflective service.  Steph and Fiona are both members of our congregation.  Fiona is an ordained UC Deacon whose role is divided between Sunshine Hospital providing pastoral care for patients experiencing mental illness and the “open door” community space at Sunshine UC.

Wurundjeri Treaty Forum
The First Nations Solidarity Group invites you to join us for a discussion after worship on Sunday 29th August.  We would like you to come along to share your thoughts about drafting a treaty with the Wurundjeri Corporation and how we might have a closer relationship with the Elders and the traditional owners of this land.

Arts Access Victoria presentsThe Museum of Us. Established in 1974, Arts Access Victoria (AAV) is the state’s peak body for arts and disability. As a disability-led arts organisation, AAV is at the forefront of innovative disability arts practice, access, and inclusion.  AAV auspices the ArtStop program offered on our site on Tuesdays.

Emergence

BUC Arts invites you to reflect on the theme of Emergence for our upcoming exhibition.

  • The exhibition will run from Friday 24 September until Sunday 4 October at Brunswick Uniting Church with two evening events. 
  • Submissions of all forms of artistic expression are welcome.  Download the submission form here.  
  • The exhibition relies on the generosity of volunteers.  There are lots of tasks including receiving the works, assisting with curating, hosting during opening hours, welcoming at the event nights, serving tea & coffee, setting up for supper and possibly more.  If you can offer any amount of time please contact Courtney Rohde, Exhibition Coordinator, 0448 233 321
