At BUC, we love that children and youth are actively involved in the life of our community.
We also love exploring the big questions… pondering, wondering, imagining.
Sunday Morning Program

Here’s what we offer for youth on Sunday mornings. Church starts at 9:30am with everyone in the worship space (entry through the glass doors on Merri St).
Most youth / teens sit with their parent/s until after the Children’s Time segment.
Then we invite teenagers to head out from about 9:50 to 10:40am: Year 7 to 9 or 10. This is often discussion-based, sometimes using video clips, drawing on the themes being explored in church that week, stories of Jesus’ life, and any big life issues: COVID, racism, global warming, hope, kindness, love.

Brunswick UC Youth

YUCY is the name of BUC’s Youth Group. It’s designed for those in Years 7 to 10. Grade 6’ers can join in Term 4 each year…(!) It’s a bit of a combined effort: quite a few of the youth from Fairfield Uniting Church are part of YUCY. It’s on about once a fortnight during Term time.
Speaking of activities, there’s plenty of variety. Werewolves is a favourite game, but we also love pizza-making (covid-permitting), movie nights, Escape rooms, trampoline venues, and messy nights.
For YUCY (Youth of the Uniting Church – Yay!), the focus is on the fun, on the social.
