Collecting, telling, sharing stories reminds us of who we are and the journey that we have travelled together.
This page hosts the Collection of Stories which started as a project of the worship committee to tell the stories of artworks in the worship space. It has expanded to include the windows, furniture, communion items, banners and so much more. The work of collecting stories is ongoing. A story is highlighted each week in the Olive Press newsletter.
See below details below for other pages on our website that offer stories about actions, events and celebrations.

Sermons and Stories
The Sermons and Stories page, also accessible from the Welcome Page, offers links to the weekly sermons and worship service stories as well as Ministry stories (usually written by our ministry/preaching and copied from our monthly Olive Branch newsletter) and Our stories.
The Our Stories column offers a wide range of stories some of which are also linked to the other pages and blogs: First Nations Focus, Social Action, Olive Way Happenings, Creating, Growing in Faith.
Faith Stories
Both the Worship Committee and Church Council have a goal to ‘Provide opportunities for people to share their faith’. In 2025 we are inviting people to share stories for the Early Word during worship.
- ‘Share a song you love‘ during Lent
- Stories of new life, during Easter
Exhibitions
The BUC Arts committee has hosted an exhibition every two years from 2017. These exhibitions celebrate the work of artists from our community of communities and beyond.
In 2025 our theme is Celebrating and Caring for Creation.
Worship
Worship is enriched when we engage all our senses. We welcome and value the contribution of a wide range of creative arts in worship. Lent and Holy Week, Advent and Christmas are significant times of creativity whilst the offering of flowers is weekly gift.
