God with Us : The only constant in our inconstant world

Scripture : Psalm 147: 12-20 John 1:1-9
We now live in a world that seems to be constantly in flux. The world shifts every day affecting our world views and vistas. We have a new norm for each day, a new painful image to deal with and a harmful perspective perpetuated.
In a world where nothing seems consistent; where chaos abounds; where the earth is on fire; where people are preparing for war; we look for the signs of God with us. The Gospel according to John articulates who God is. As gathered community we look to the table that is set before us (communion). A sign of God with us. The table around which we gather is the constant in our inconstant world. God with us!
