Mechanics of the Eye

Priscilla Manthey will offer Mechanics of the Eye a six week series in two three week blocks.
Priscilla is a professional artist and previously led the More than Cut & Paste Collage workshops.
Through these workshops Priscilla will seek to realign some of the understanding about the nature and purpose in the practice of Life Drawing. She comments ‘For decades, centuries even, held as the essential starter for any art practice, the transition to abstract, political, social critique subject matter, and digital means of representation, has rendered this activity superfluous to serious art study. It remains however a beautiful and demanding practice, but I would like to detach it from its traditional associations, and re-present it as a contemplative exercise for contemporary life.’
The workshops will be held in the West End of the main hall on 16th, 23rd & 30th June followed by 14th, 21st & 28th July.
