Climate Action Group – Advocacy

The BUC Climate Action Group (CAG) will meet at 5pm on Saturday 17th October via zoom to discuss political action and advocacy around supporting a green recovery.

• what worked well and what were positives on working with FOE
• difficulties or disappointments
• any thoughts regarding a campaign for 2021 (suggestions for specific campaigns and/or factors to consider in choosing a campaign for next year)

• Climate Crisis Study group – Shawn’s suggestion regarding a theology based study group.
• Convenor of the Climate Action Group
  Richard is preparing to work on climate action across the wider church and would value someone else taking on the role of convenor of the BUC group. Please consider whether you might take on this role.
• Emissions Reduction Booklet – Congregations and Individuals (already circulated by Richard)
• Climate Action Commitments
  Richard has received some new ones.
  We would also like to keep promoting this.
  How can we use the ones that people send to CAG (via Richard)?

5. Next Meetings 

The next meeting of the whole BUC Climate Action Group is on Saturday 31 October at 5pm. The Political Advocacy and Action team will reconvene next year as we take on the next major campaign.
