A space for healing
While they were there, the time came for her to deliver her child. (Luke 2:6)
Blue Christmas is a quiet service of reflection & meditation for people who want a space to grieve, remember loved ones who have died, look back over a difficult year, seek peace in troubled times or simply take some time away from the busyness of this particular time of the year.
during our service, we will hear the Christmas story read in 4 sections, we will light the Advent candles for hope, peace, joy and love and respond to these themes with simple actions. We will celebrate Holy Communion.
This service will not be live-streamed. However the complete order of service is available here. It includes links to pre-recorded versions of the three Christmas Carols. Links to our musicians singing all the verses of the song accompanying candle lighting will be added in after the service tomorrow. Meanwhile links to the Hope, Peace and Joy verses are taken from the first three Advent services. We hope that this will assist you in your participation in the Blue Christmas experience if you are unable to join us in person.
