Synod Discussion paper
We have some exciting news related to climate action in the Uniting Church.
Our Synod has just released a discussion paper called: “How can the Synod reach net zero emissions by 2040?”
Read the discussion paper. Check out the discussion sheet.
This is now opportunity for all communities within the Synod to make input and help frame recommendations on climate action which will go to the 2023 Synod meeting in November.
This action has the potential to influence the Synod policy regarding climate change well into the future. It could influence over 450 congregations, a number of church schools, and large agencies such as “Uniting” and “Uniting Age Well”!Detailed comment and input from BUC would be really appreciated by the Synod Taskforce as it frames its recommendations to the Synod meeting. The time frame for comments is quite small so we have called a Zoom meeting to plan how the Brunswick Congregation can make input. The BUC Climate Action group is meeting on Tuesday evening 28 March at 7 pm.
