Minister of the Word – Children, Youth & Youth Adults
It’s good to have finally started in the role of Minister: Children, Youth and Young Adults at BUC. After three years of full time study and more years before that in preparation and discernment, I feel ready to step into the role and discover what this new phase of ministry is about.
Even though this is my first placement as an ordained minister, I have worked for the Uniting Church in for most of my working life, firstly in youth ministry, then social justice for many years and finally as the Safe Church project officer for Loddon Mallee presbytery. Just prior to candidating, I worked as a hospital chaplain.
I have also spent the last twelve years coordinating Uniting Faith and Families, which is a faith community of families from across Victoria that come together for an annual camp, regional gatherings and online discussion groups.
I’m looking forward to my new role and have already enjoyed meeting people and being part of the community.
