Prayers of Adoration & Confession

God our creator, you are
the maker and lover of all things.
You created the planet that is our home.
You created everything on her and within her.
You called us into being and said
that everything was beautiful
And you told us to take care of things,
to rest and love all that you have made.

Jesus our Saviour, you are
the beloved one, human like us.
You told us stories about God
so that we could learn about love.
You reached out to people who were sad
and sick and healed them with love.
You told people when they were wrong
and tried to make them listen.
And you called us to follow you
and love people into your Kingdom.

Holy Spirit, Breath of life,
you are the lover of our souls.
You help us to pray when we have
no words and all we can do is groan.
You lighten our footsteps and
helps us to dance.
You show us how to love people
even when it seems hard.
And you breathe joy into our lives
and remind us that God is love. Amen

Creator God, Beloved Son,
Breath of Life and power we are sorry.
Sometimes things happen in our world
and our lives that are really difficult.
Sometimes we get so sad
that we don’t know what to do
And sometimes we get angry
and feel helpless.
Help us to be strong, to be loving and kind
and to be ready to follow you. Amen

News from Julie – Friends, As was announced on Sunday 4th June, my time of discernment in May has lead me to the decision to step aside from my role as Children’s and Family worker at BUC.

Many of you will know that this has been work that is dear to my heart and began when I was asked to research the report that became ‘Pathways to the River’ in 2013.

I could not have asked for a more inspiring group of people to work for and with. My heartfelt thanks to the CYYA committee and the Ministry Team.

I will be finishing up in July and look forward to finding ways to continue participating in the life of the congregation. I will be in conversation with Ian about ways to do this without occupying the space the new incumbent of the role will need to take up.

Wider Church News

Share Unites – This time called life was meant to Share. A new chapter in Share’s story. In July Share will join Uniting, the new community services arm of the Uniting Church in Victoria and Tasmania. We believe this is a bold step which will strengthen the Church’s community service work for decades to come. Thanks to your support we have much to be proud of, and our work is not yet done. With your help, we will continue to provide hope for those who have nowhere else to turn.

As part of the upcoming Uniting in Song festival the choirs of Wesley Church will be combining to help lead the singing. Anyone who would like to take part in this role would be most welcome to join in. A separate practice will be held on Thursday 22nd June at 7pm at Wesley Church for 90 minutes in which all the hymns and songs will be thoroughly rehearsed. If you have any interest please call the Wesley Church Music Director Geoff Urquhart on 0437 871 412, or simply turn up on the night at Wesley.
