The Olive Way is a place of welcome for all who want to use it. It is the result of the Brunswick congregation’s decision to open its doors to the public outside of the regular Sunday service and we have been running now for seven years.
While we are open to anyone who wants a place to rest, chat, read the paper or just sit with a cup of tea, our particular focus is those people who are on the edge of their communities and may not have a place to feel comfortable or welcomed anywhere else.
We are nestled in the cozy space between the worship area and the hall with access directly to Sydney Road and operate from 10 am to 1:30 pm, Tuesday to Thursday.
A community kitchen provides lunch on Wednesdays at 12:30. An art group run by Arts Access also operates on Wednesday, and a more relaxed art program is available Thursdays. Coffee, tea, sandwiches and light snacks are always on offer.
If you’re interested in helping out by making coffees or conversation, or by playing a board game or having a chat with someone, we are very keen to meet you.
