Justice & Mission Committee
The JAM committee is committed to:
- offering clear and constructive advice regarding missional priorities for Church Council’s consideration
- building community, bringing the congregation along with us, providing opportunities for people of all ages, abilities, life experiences and skills to engage.
- fostering and nurturing our energy to ensure that what we focus on is done well
- taking the opportunity to speak truth to power
We will explore and engage with a range of issues including but not limited to
- Climate action
- Refugees & Asylum Seekers
- Justice system – prisons, children & young people in detention
- Homelessness, lack of housing, welfare payments
- First Nations people
- Justice & law – elections are coming up, an opportunity to speak truth to power through election forums
- Mental health – an increasing issue across all areas
